2014 Business Growth Profile
In 2014, Chicago-area business expansions brought more than 21,700 new jobs and $6.8 billion in investment to the region, according to data tracked by World Business Chicago (WBC). The data contributed to Site Selection magazine rating Chicago the “Top Metro” for corporate investment in the U.S. for the second year in a row. In 2014, Chicago also retained its global foothold, continuing to rank among the top 10 cities worldwide in A.T. Kearney’s Global Cities Index in terms of current performance and future potential in business activity, human capital, information exchange, cultural experience, and political engagement.
