Dan Lyne is the Director of Technology Development for World Business Chicago, a public-private business organization created & chaired by Mayor Richard M. Daley.
Lyne specializes in the retention and attraction of global technology firms to the Chicago region. He markets the region's technology and telecommunications landscape, advises on programmatic development matters related to technology and telecommunications, and serves as liaison for corporate technology leaders to the City government. He serves on Mayor Daley’s Council of Technology Advisors, focusing on financial investment strategies and mobile/wireless development solutions. Lyne also worked on Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s transition team for Technology & Venture Capital development.
Lyne has assumed roles within the Chicago Software Association Policy Development Team, the Illinois CIO Exchange, the National Skill Standards Board, as well as the Chicago Public Schools eBrigade program. He sits on the Technology Advisory Board for DePaul University’s College of Computer Science, Telecommunications and Information Systems. Lyne also sits on the Advisory Board for financial strategy firm, Fulton Bridge Partners. He speaks to local, national & international audiences representing public/private technology & digital communications initiatives with respect to the Chicago region.
Lyne holds a Juris Doctor from Chicago's John Marshall School of Law, with a concentration on International Business Transactions and EU Policy from Trinity College of Law in Dublin, Ireland. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature & Creative Writing from Kenyon College.
