Gretchen Kosarko, Director of Research for World Business Chicago (WBC), supports the organization’s mission through economic research and analysis. Her work focuses on development of a comprehensive base of information that highlights the region’s economic strengths, business-friendly environment, and quality of life.
Prior to joining WBC, Kosarko worked as a project manager with S. B. Friedman & Company, a real estate economics and development advisory firm in Chicago. She has also held positions at the Center for Urban and Regional Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Century Place Development Corporation (now Heartland Housing). Prior to entering the planning and economic development field, she worked for four years as an executive compensation consultant in Chicago.
Kosarko is a member of the American Planning Association and has earned membership in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). She holds a Master of Urban and Regional Planning degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts degree in statistics and economics from the University of Chicago.
