Lori Bush,
Director of Business Development

Lori Bush is director of business development for World Business Chicago (WBC), a public-private economic development agency, chaired by Mayor Richard M. Daley. 

WBC's mission is to expand Chicago's economy through the growth of the private sector by marketing Chicago's competitive advantages, coordinating business retention and attraction efforts, and seeking to enhance Chicago's business climate by being a thought leader in economic development policy.

Prior to joining WBC, Lori worked for the City of Chicago’s Department of Planning and Development as the Central Loop Project Manager. In that role, she managed real estate and economic development projects including design reviews for numerous proposed high-rise and mixed-use projects in the Loop. Additionally, she negotiated multiple corporate headquarter financial incentive packages in order to relocate, expand and retain businesses and jobs in the Loop. 

Previously, Lori was the director of alumni relations for the business school at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. In this role, she managed a board of corporate executives, as well as a highly successful CEO speaker series, and various marketing and volunteer programs.

Lori holds a Master of Urban Planning and Policy degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Urban Studies from Central College. She also studied abroad in Wales, and subsequently worked in London.
