The Telecommunications Industry Association, which has managed SUPERCOMM®, the world's largest annual communications exhibition and conference, announced a new component of its strategy to showcase total communications solutions through its events, standards and public policy efforts. GLOBALCOMM™ will be TIA's annual exhibition and conference, taking place at Chicago's McCormick Place.

GLOBALCOMM will bring together a broad base of global information and communications technology (ICT) suppliers, service providers, enterprises and other users of ICT. The event will feature world-class educational sessions and cutting-edge technology solutions for convergence, communications infrastructure, wireless, content, enhanced security and IP applications such as IPTV, VoIP and VoD. Along with keynotes from global industry leaders, GLOBALCOMM will offer technology, regulatory and business advancements driving the converged, global telecommunications industry. TIA has the same operations, sales and marketing team in place that helped shape SUPERCOMM as a worldwide brand.

When SUPERCOMM expressed that Atlanta could no longer serve its needs, Chicago rolled out the welcome mat. Growing at a rate of 20% each year, SUPERCOMM chose to call Chicago's McCormick Place home through 2006. Thanks to the combined efforts of Mayor Daley, World Business Chicago, the CCTB, & MPEA, Chicago has captured the presence of the nation's most prestigious technology & telecommunications event, which will become GLOBALCOMM in 2006.

When announcing plans to move the conference to Chicago, SUPERCOMM general manger, Jack Chalden said, "Chicago will address our need to expand exhibit and conference programming space, and provide much needed hotel capacity, thus adding value for all our constituents."

Along with it's attendance of industry professionals from around the world, SUPERCOMM represents millions of dollars in direct expenditures each year to Chicago.
