Mayor Emanuel, President Preckwinkle Announce Skills for Chicagoland's Future to Address Workforce Skills Gap in Chicago, Cook County

September 13, 2012

World Business Chicago proudly supports the new Skills for Chicagoland’s Future (SCF) initiative.  The program evolved from Chicago Career Tech, which was incubated at WBC, and also leveraged public/private partnerships to create a new corps of skilled professionals to meet the needs of area companies. Developing the region’s workforce in a demand-driven and targeted manor is one of the strategies of Chicago’s Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs, created and being implemented by WBC. We look forward to working with the SCF team to help shrink the region’s skills gap and stimulate its economy.
