Reaffirming Our Global Position

We, here at World Business Chicago, know that our city is a global economic powerhouse. We demonstrate our position as a global business destination daily to people who are as far as the other side of the world, or as near as down State Street.
We talk about how our economy rivals nations, and is the most diverse in the country. We talk about how we are home to some of the world’s greatest minds. And, we talk about how our city houses more than 1,500 foreign-based companies, many of which are here in part due to Chicago’s unique access to the world.
We know that our city’s business advantages, coupled with its quality of life make it a premier business destination… but we always welcome outsiders who confirm this. So, when The Atlantic recently came out with the World’s 25 Most Economically Powerful Cities, we were pleased that Chicago came in at #4. Topped only by Tokyo, New York and London, and one of only four U.S. cities that made the top 25, Chicago is once again recognized as one of the strongest economies in the world.
