Director of Business Development


The Director of Business Development is a full-time position that reports to the Executive Vice President of Business Development. The responsibility of the Director of Business Development will be to manage clients through various stages of project development ranging from prospect identification and subsequent outreach to client management and deal closure.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure prospects’ interest in the Chicago area via face-to-face visits and multi-media presentations
  • Establish and manage relationships with key real estate and site location decision makers
  • Collaborate and maintain relationships with local/state government and other key economic development partners
  • Develop relocation proposals and requests for information, as well as arranging required site visits
  • Work with fellow staff to develop and implement targeted industry marketing and outreach efforts
  • Complete regularly required status reports and maintaining project tracking databases
  • Represent Chicago area at selected tradeshows and professional conferences
  • Develop and communicate a strong working knowledge of sites and buildings, incentives and other locational advantages available to prospective businesses
  • Conduct other related tasks and assignments not specified above

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in economic development

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, urban planning, public policy or related field
