The World Summit is internationally recognized as among the most important annual events in the field of peacemaking, attracting Nobel Peace Laureates and hundreds of international high-profile leaders and organizations. Chicago is the first North American city to host the global peace summit.

Leaders from around the world will gather in Chicago this spring for two diplomatic summits hosted by President Barack Obama. The G8 and North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will hold back-to-back meetings in Chicago from May 18-21, allowing the city to highlight its economic vitality, its arts and architecture, and its can-do spirit.
