Make It Big In Chicago CD-ROM Wins Three Prestigious Awards

CHICAGO, May 29, 2002 – World Business Chicago snagged three prestigious awards during the past month for its Make It Big In Chicago interactive CD-ROM. World Business Chicago and Jordan Tamraz Caruso (JTC) Advertising received two Tower Awards from the Business Marketing Association’s (BMA) Chicago Chapter and a Creative Excellence Award from the Employment Management Association (EMA).

Created in response to the Chicago business community’s need for bright, young talent, the high-energy interactive and audio CD-ROM was developed by World Business Chicago and JTC in order to target college seniors and first-year graduate school students nationwide.

The CD-ROM is divided into three sections – work, live, and play. The prospective newcomer is greeted with a visual overview of Chicago showcasing its skyline, neighborhoods and cultural attractions through a high-energy video. The exploration of Chicago abounds through embedded web-enabled hot links and a sampling of Chicago’s local bands.

WBC and JTC received two Tower Awards this year – Gold for Interactive Presentation and “Best of Show.” BMA’s 19th annual Tower Awards Creative Competition solicited entries from leading business-to-business marketers and agencies who work in or serve clients located in the Chicago, northern Illinois and Indiana and southern Wisconsin markets.

Judges recruited from regional BMA Chapters and allied and peer companies from across the country evaluated 398 entries on creative concept, execution and overall effectiveness against stated goals. Judges used the same criteria to vote anonymously for the “Best of Show” award.

EMA, the leading professional association for employment and staffing professionals and service providers, recognized WBC and JTC with the “Best of Category” award in the CD-ROM/DVD section. EMA’s Creative Excellence Awards is the only advertising awards specifically for recruitment advertising.

The 2002 Creative Excellence competition included more than 900 entries from an array of agencies and firms. A special presentation highlighting the awards process, judging and winners was held during the 33rd EMA Annual Conference & Exposition in San Francisco, CA.
