Tedd Carrison provides technical support to World Business Chicago's mission through economic research, GIS analysis, and data management.
Prior to joining WBC, Carrison worked in the Lake County (IL) Chief County Assessment Office, where he generated GIS maps and statistical reports. Before that, he was a research assistant for the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP), where he researched and co-wrote strategy reports for Chicago’s regional comprehensive plan. At CMAP, he also worked on the Chicago Regional Indicators project, a collection of quantitative measures to track economic, environmental, infrastructural, and quality-of-life progress across northeastern Illinois. Carrison's interests in urban planning and economic development were formed by his experiences as a reporter for the Hyde Park Herald and Lakefront Outlook, community newspapers on Chicago's South Side. In 2006, he won two Illinois Press Association awards for his work at the Herald.
Carrison has a master's degree in urban planning and policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a bachelor's degree in print journalism from Columbia College Chicago.
