Alec Singer joined World Business Chicago in September 2018. In their role as a Research Manager, Alec completes research and analysis to drive inclusive economic growth and convey Chicago’s position as a leading global city.
Before joining WBC, Alec worked at NPV Advisors, a Chicago-based appraisal and real estate consulting group. At NPV, Alec executed market, policy, and economic research and authored customized narratives to support real estate valuation. Alec is passionate about local government and economic development, which is reflected by a handful of public sector roles held during their time in Washington. Namely, Alec executed legal and policy research for Seattle’s municipally-owned utility, assisted with current and long-range planning for the City of Tukwila, and finalized a county-wide STAR Communities sustainability assessment for King County.
Born and raised in Evanston, Alec spent four years at Seattle University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs concentrating in Urban Planning and Policy. During this time, Alec received an award from the American Planning Association and the Planning Association of Washington for their participation and leadership in a city-wide inventory of Seattle’s public stairways. In their free time, Alec enjoys gardening, cooking, and volunteering at the Garfield Park Conservatory.
