Morgan Murphy is an International Program Manager with Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI), a division of World Business Chicago that manages Chicago’s 29 international sister city relationships. In this capacity, Morgan manages volunteer sister city committees; coordinates exchanges that focus on cultural arts and tourism, international business and economic development, global education and government relations between Chicago and its sister cities; facilitates international delegation visits; and produces CSCI program-wide events.
Morgan is originally from Northern Michigan and holds a BA in International Relations and a BA in Comparative Cultures & Politics from James Madison College of Michigan State University. She also holds an international bilingual master’s degree in Public Policy, with a focus on Political Economy & Development. Prior to joining the CSCI team, Morgan received a Fulbright grant to Bulgaria, assisted in starting a small artisanal cheese shop in Michigan, and worked with the Bread Houses Network to develop and implement international projects of community-building, social inclusion, and civic participation through collaborative bread-making. Morgan is passionate about intercultural dialogue, city-based development initiatives, and art and food as drivers of social change. She paints, travels, and plays sports in her free time and speaks English, Bulgarian, and Spanish.
