Nicole McCarthy is an International Program Manager with Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI), a division of World Business Chicago that manages Chicago’s 29 international sister city relationships. In this capacity, Nicole manages volunteer sister city committees; coordinates exchanges that focus on cultural arts and tourism, international business and economic development, global education and government relations between Chicago and its sister cities; facilitates international delegation visits; and produces CSCI program-wide events.
Nicole is originally from Batavia, IL and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Spanish from Augustana College where she studied abroad in Ecuador and Spain. Prior to joining the CSCI team, she served as the Service Learning & Outreach Manager for Greenheart International. There, she oversaw the development and implementation of international service learning projects, global impact grants, and leadership-focused scholarship programs for youth from 90+ countries. Between 2013-2016 she worked as an English as a Foreign Language Instructor in Santiago and Iquique, Chile. She is passionate about girls’ empowerment and volunteers regularly with Girl Forward. A lover of travel and culture, Nicole has visited 5 of Chicago’s 29 sister cities and hopes to see many more. Nicole is fluent in Spanish and knowledgeable in Portuguese.
