In March, 2020, Ogechi joined World Business Chicago as the EVP of Strategy, Legal, and Operations. She is responsible for supporting World Business Chicago’s “local impact, global reach” approach by managing and assisting with foreign direct investment, marketing and communications, research, legal, human resources, and operations strategies.
Ogechi received her JD from New York Law School and her BA from Emory University. She is licensed to practice in New York and Illinois and has experience in infrastructure development, finance, and strategy, with a focus on public-private partnerships. Having worked as a consultant with KPMG’s Infrastructure Advisory practice, as legal counsel for Skanska Infrastructure Development (Swedish developer renovating LaGuardia Terminal B), and as an associate in the Government Transactions and Africa practices at Mayer Brown, her breadth of transactional experience is wide. She has advised public and private sector clients on a variety of infrastructure projects, including managed lanes, trains, airports, and social infrastructure. Ogechi also advised on public law matters and pro-bono legal services that support local foundations, as well as, city and state projects. Examples of those projects include facilitating the Mayor Lightfoot and Governor Pritzker transition efforts.
