Oren Schumaker became a Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs Fellow in June of 2014.
As an architect with twelve years of professional experience, Oren has been involved in a wide variety of projects, ranging in size as well as sector type. Working with internationally recognized firms KPF in New York, and Gensler in Chicago, Oren has had the opportunity to complete projects both domestically and internationally, spanning the U.S., Europe, Asia and Africa.
Oren graduated from Montana State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in architecture, and he has been involved in a number of extracurricular activities since his career began, serving on the Advisory Council for the School of Architecture at MSU, as an ACE Mentor, as an ARE Prep Instructor for AIA NY, a committee member to the AIA Chicago – Young Architects Forum, working with Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago, and as a volunteer firefighter in Bozeman, Montana. Oren is a registered architect in the state of New York, and a member of the AIA. Oren lives in Evanston with his wife Michelle and their infant son.
