Steve Thornton became a Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs Fellow in May of 2013.
Steve is a Manager in the Advisory Services practice of Ernst & Young LLP. He has 11 years of risk management, risk/internal control analysis, and process improvement experience with a focus in the Financial Services, Energy, and Consumer Products industries.
He has served a variety of clients by providing solutions for their credit risk, collections, and lending processes. Through these projects, he has more specifically focused on the areas of contract review and management, securitizations, lending strategies, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, risk methodologies, project management, accounting processes, and enterprise risk management.
Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Miami (FL). He also received his Juris Doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor (Arizona State University) College of Law and is licensed to practice law in Illinois. He is a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA), and Chicago Bar Association (CBA). Steve is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
