Grubb & Ellis Company is one of the world’s leading full-service commercial real estate organizations, providing a complete range of transaction, management and consulting services.
The company moved its offices from Northbrook to 500 W. Monroe, a premier Class A building in Chicago’s financial district; it had moved executives to Northbrook from San Francisco in 1997.
Grubb and Ellis occupies three floors, approximately 64,000 square feet of the office tower. The office will be home to the company’s corporate staff, as well as its Chicago brokerage and management services operations.
“Chicago is an ideal place to run a business, because our city offers tremendous economic strength and resources combined with an enhanced quality of life,” said Mayor Richard M. Daley, when commenting on Grubb and Ellis’ move.
“This move is part of our long-term growth strategy to position Grubb & Ellis as the leading global provider of real estate services and places us among other world-class corporations and financial institutions in Chicago’s financial district,” said Mark E. Rose, Chief Executive Officer of Grubb and Ellis.
Grubb and Ellis planned to move approximately 200 employees from its Northbrook office to the city.
