True Value Keeps Headquarters in Chicago

September 30, 2009

In one of the 2009's largest office leases, True Value Corporation, a world-leading, member-owned hardware cooperative, announced it would keep its corporate headquarters in Chicago at President’s Plaza, 8600 W. Bryn Mawr Avenue.  The company committed to approximately 125,000 square feet near O’Hare International Airport for 10 years.

“After an exhaustive evaluation of Downtown Chicago and Suburban market alternatives, it was deemed by the True Value executive team that renewing at President’s Plaza was the best economic and operational facilities solution for the organization,” commented UGL Equis Senior Vice President & Managing Director Chris Wood, who represented True Value.

World Business Chicago worked closely with True Value, providing location information and acting as a liaison between the public and private sectors in order to retain the company and jobs in the city.

“We are delighted that True Value is keeping its headquarters here, tapping into the competitive advantages that Chicago offers. We look forward to a strong relationship with this important corporate partner in the years to come,” said Rita Athas, President of World Business Chicago.

President’s Plaza is a four-building complex co-owned by Chicago-based GlenStar Properties.
