Consider the power of the Barack Obama brand. Almost overnight, he has exploded as a global phenomenon, lauded by average people and those in power. Then look at Chicago. Still haunted by images of factory soot, stockyards and gangsters, the city's international identiy is trapped in the past. That's why the city's boosters are rubbing their hands together. They are excited by the prospect of using brand Obama to sell Chicago as a destination for corporate offices, tourists and the 2016 Olympics.

Forbes.com Names Chicago No. 6 on America's Hottest Green Job Markets List
Despite the gloom and doom pouring out of Wall Street, there is at least one genuine bright spot left in the U.S. economy--and it has a decidedly green hue. The U.S. had tallied more than 750,000 green jobs in 2006 and is set to add millions more in the next few decades, according to a new report by the U.S. Conference of Mayors and Global Insight, a Boston-based economic research firm.
