Economy 2030 Working Groups Underway
WBC Convening Industry Leaders as Part of Mayor Lightfoot’s Economy 2030 Plan
As a part of Mayor Lightfoot’s Economy 2030 economic development plan – her 10-year strategy to remake the city’s economy and rebuild its population to 3 million – WBC is convening experts and industry leaders across the city. WBC is focused on developing strategies to drive inclusive growth in four key sectors: transportation, distribution, and logistics; technology; tourism and hospitality; and healthcare and life sciences.
Each of these working groups have met twice already since the new year and are in the process of developing strategies, recommendations and implementation plans that will advance cluster growth in Chicago. By the end of March 2020, each working group will produce a brief report on their strategy for cluster growth.
WBC will continue to share insight and additional information on the working groups’ progress over the coming weeks.
