World Business Chicago (WBC) is happy to share the 2019 ChicagoNEXT Award recipient is Future Founders. Future Founders provides age-appropriate and stage-appropriate programs to connect youth passionate about entrepreneurship with mentors and help them build a toolkit of entrepreneurial skills.
Future Founders believes every youth can become an entrepreneur. They immerse youth in experiences that inspire and empower them to create their own opportunity. They believe this leads to a generation more determined, hopeful and equipped as they engage the future. Since 2005, Future Founders’ programs have served over 35,000 youth in Chicago and across the country. Their first four cohorts of national millennial founders generated $17.7M in revenue, secured $12.4M in capital and created 317 jobs in the last three years alone.
At the Chicago Consular Corps Gala, World Business Chicago will present the 2019 ChicagoNEXT Award to Future Founders for their accomplishments as a Blackstone Challenge awardee and a technology industry leader on a global scale. Launched in 2017, the Blackstone Challenge is a three-year, $3 million program to fund organizations that recruit and support underserved entrepreneurs throughout Chicago. Future Founders was chosen for the Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge, a partnership with ChicagoNEXT of World Business Chicago for their support of entrepreneurship, new ventures, and job creation. As year three of the Blackstone Challenge launches from July 2019 to June 2020, Future Founders has led the way as an impactful grantee.
Future Founders President and CEO, Scott Issen will accept the award on behalf of the company.
The annual Gala is Chicago’s premier international event honoring the Chicago Consular Corps (CCC)—an international group of Consulates, Consulates General and Honorary Consulates representing 86 countries around the world, and celebrating the longstanding relationship between the city and the Consular Corps.
