Anel Montes Marchan is Deputy Director of Chicago Sister Cities International (CSCI), an initiative of World Business Chicago that manages Chicago’s 29 international sister city relationships.
In this capacity, she oversees all aspects of organizational programming and provides guidance and direction to the programming staff. In addition, Anel coordinates exchanges that focus on cultural arts and tourism, international business and economic development, global education and government relations between Chicago and its sister cities; facilitates international delegation visits; and produces CSCI program-wide events.
Prior to joining CSCI, Anel worked for the City of Chicago for five years as the Private Events Manager at Millennium Park, a 24.5 acre public park in downtown Chicago with state of the art facilities, unique public artwork and beautiful gardens.
Anel is a native of Chicago and holds a B.A. in Media Management with a focus on Print Media from Columbia College Chicago and an M.B.A. with a focus on Public Administration from DeVry University Keller Graduate School of Management. She is fluent in Spanish and a self-proclaimed connoisseur of pastries.
