Opportunities to impact Chicago’s future, while gaining valuable experience

World Business Chicago is currently recruiting for the next round of its Fellowship Program that begins March 1, 2018. The program provides exclusive professional development opportunities for mid-level executives to help drive Chicago’s strong economic growth.

IMPACT

Since the program’s inception in 2012, WBC fellows have advanced more than 30 programs and initiatives to drive inclusive economic growth, including: mHUB, ChicagoNEXT, CASE (Chicago Anchors for a Strong Economy), Skills for Chicagoland’s Future and MATTER.

THE WORK

WBC’s Fellowship Program provides a unique opportunity for professional growth by leading
impactful economic development projects. WBC is currently recruiting fellows for projects and initiatives including:

• CASE (Chicago Anchors for a Strong Economy) – building upon CASE’s work to grow the initiative strategically
• ChicagoMade – supporting Chicago’s creative industries
• CRGI (Chicago Regional Growth Initiative) – developing methodology for creating new partnerships
• WBC process improvement – helping shape WBC into an agile and hyper-efficient organization that delivers meaningful innovations
• WBC public relations – collaboration with WBC’s communications team
• Workforce development – leading and promoting unified communications and infrastructure for engagement

Participants in the program develop, implement and lead large-scale and highly-visible projects and initiatives, while driving inclusive economic growth. They build an expansive and diverse professional network, and enhance their knowledge, leadership skills and strategic thinking, while gaining exposure to new industries and diverse stakeholders.

FELLOWS COME FROM A VARIETY OF INDUSTRIES AND BACKGROUNDS

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS

World Business Chicago welcomes fellows from a diverse array of industries and backgrounds and hosts approximately 12 fellows each year (two classes per year, four to six months each). Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of work experience. They must have demonstrated project leadership, and be an entrepreneurial thinkers, adaptable and flexible to perform in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.

To apply, candidates must have approval from their company or organization and two professional references. The selection process includes in-person interviews with WBC, an essay on WBC projects of interest and final approval from WBC.
