CULTURAL VIBRANCY

A Renaissance Of Growth

In Chicago, we don’t treat cultural vibrancy as  “nice to have” amenities. We consider it one of our key  economic industries, tying together tourism, entertainment, sports, retail, transit, and creative industries into one ecosystem that helps attract and retain visitors, talent, and investment.  Chicago’s cultural renaissance fuels quality of life, powers economic growth, and today is anchoring the city’s future.

Our city features a wide array of cultural activities, including 81 museums, 600 parks and 250-plus theaters. Those venues include globally renowned The Goodman, Steppenwolf and Second City theaters. We also have nine professional sports teams including The Bears, Bulls, Sky, Cubs, White Sox, Stars and Fire; and 22 Michelin-starred restaurants.  And while The Bear television series is fictional, two restaurants the Emmy-Award television show is based on are real and thriving here, including Mr. Beef and Ever. Not to mention 28 miles of Chicago lakefront shoreline and 24 sand beaches.

We are intentional about how we develop and grow the aspects of Chicago that make people really want to visit, live, and stay here.
